GM – 0167: Shan State Discovery Tour (6N/7D)


Inle Lake is located in the heart of the Shan Plateau. It is a beautiful highland lake, 900 meters above sea level. The lake is 22km long and 10km across, and inhabited by many different ethnic nationals of the area. The Intha people are the Lake dwellers who are unique for their leg rowing. Leg rowed traditional boats are the main ceremonial attractions of the Inlay Lake. Continue to Taung Gyi is the capital of Shan State and the fifth largest city in Myanmar which is at an elevation of 4,712 feet (1,436 m) above sea level and also Kalaw is a hill town of the Shan State and 1320 metres above sea level and Pindaya which is a small quiet town perched on the banks of the placid Botoloke Lake. On the way, enjoy the marvelous landscapes of hilly region with vegetables plantation, terrace-landing cultivation, etc.





You’ll start at the post office and walk to Sule Pagoda in the middle of downtown, passing by Strand Hotel, Mahabandoola Garden and Independence Monument along the way. Then visit China town, little India town, a colorful cacophony of restaurants, temples and markets. In the evening, visit Shwedagon Pagoda which is the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar and enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa from this vantage point. Stay overnight in Yangon.



In the early morning, transfer to the airport and take domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival, drive to Pindaya and on the way, enjoy the marvelous landscapes of hilly region with vegetables plantation, terrace-landing cultivation, etc. Then, visit the Pindaya Caves – houses 8094 Buddha Images. Continue to Kalaw and visit Shwe Oo Min Pagoda, Thin Bamboo Strips Pagoda, the most famous places and sightseeing in Kalaw. Stay overnight in Kalaw.



After having breakfast at the hotel, visit Kakku Pagoda. The Kakku relic pagoda of the southern Shan State, which only recently has become one of the most visited place in Shan State. In the afternoon, drive back to Taung Gyi and enjoy the beautiful sunset at Sularmuni Pagoda and Taung Gyi Night Bazaar where you can enjoy local foods, traditional handicrafts and also sightseeing. After that, you’ll be driven to Nyaung Shwe, your gateway to the captivating Inle Lake and stay overnight.

After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll start sightseeing the most attraction places of Inle Lake. The floating gardens, floating farms, floating villages, the leg-rowers fishermen, the most famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and the jumping cats monastery should not be missed during the stay in Inle Lake. Stay overnight in Inle.

After having breakfast at the hotel, visit to Indein which is a small village on the western bank of the lake, and enjoy panoramic views of the area from the beautiful pagoda hill there. In the afternoon, back to Inle Lake and take boat excursion on the lake. The well-known silk weaving looms, cheroot factory and lotus-robe hand looms are also recommended to visit.



After having breakfast at the hotel, take boat excursion to the attraction places of Inle Lake. In the afternoon, drive to Heho, transfer to the airport and fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and stay overnight in Yangon.

After having breakfast at the hotel, visit Bogyoke Market inaugurated in 1926, is the most popular market of Yangon and Myanmars as well. A wide range of Myanmar souvenirs are available at this market attracting every foreign visitor guests also visit the market to buy trendy clothes and accessories. In the afternoon, transfer to the Yangon International Airport and take your departure flight.
