Travel to the Mandalay (Yadanarpon), the last capital of the Myanmar Kingdom, is in Central Myanmar, 688km due north of Yangon and second largest city after Yangon. Being rich in monasteries and pagodas, it is still accepted as the arts and cultural heart-land of Myanmar. For lovers of arts and crafts, Mandalay offers the largest repository of Myanmar arts and crafts. Skilled crafts men make world famous genie tapestry called Shwe Chi Htoe (Gold thread Weaving), beautiful articles of ivory, wood, and stone, silver-ware and bronze statues according to the time-honored traditions of their fore-fathers. It can also said that Mandalay is the center of Myanmar Culture, and it will give all people of arts and crafts lovers such as wood carving, stone carvings, Bronze casting, gold beating, and gold embroidery or Kalakar making.
Bagan with their Pagodas and Temples dating back more than 1500 years of history is the most fascinating place for visitors and you arrange your sightseeing tour by car, horse cart or on your own on a bicycle. Also you can have an idyllic sunset boat trip on the Ayeyarwaddy River to observe the beautiful sunset over Bagan while enjoying a cold drink. Bagan is also a great place for beautiful local art, such as lacquer ware, bamboo works and beautiful local made cloth.
Warmly welcome at Mandalay International Airport. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and take a rest for a while. After that, visit Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City, Shan Plateau, etc. After that, we visit Kuthodaw Pagoda – the world biggest book, Mandalay Royal Palace, Shwenandaw ( Golden Palace ) Monastery – the finest of wood carving, Mahamuni Buddha Image – one of the most sacred Buddha Image in Myanmar and you can gaze at the venerated statue of Buddha covered in delicate gold leaf, etc. Stay overnight in Mandalay.
After having breakfast at the hotel, take boat excursion to Mingun and visit Mingun Pahtotawgyi Pagoda which is one of the famous monument in the world. It is also known as the world’s largest unfinished pagoda. Then, visit the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons and the unusual Mya Thein Tan Pagoda. After that, continue sightseeing to the famous attraction places of Sagaing and Ava (Inwa). In the evening, continue to Amarapura and enjoy the sunset by crossing over U Bein Bridge. After that, drive back to Mandalay and stay overnight.
In the early morning, transfer to the airport and take domestic flight to Bagan. Your tour starts with the busy local market and continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important Pagodas and temples, such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Gu Byauk Gyi, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, Manuha Temple, built in Mon Style in 1095 and Htilominlo Temple, the best pilaster carving, etc. In the evening, proceed to Shwe San Daw Pagoda and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Stay overnight in Bagan.
After having breakfast at the hotel, visit Ananda Temple with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior and Dhamayangyi Temple, Sulamani Temple, Gu Byauk Kyi Temple (Myin Kabar Village) and lacquer ware work shop, etc. In the afternoon, transfer to the Nyaung Oo Airport and fly back to Mandalay. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and stay overnight.
After having breakfast and check-out at the hotel, visit Zay Cho Market where you can buy traditional handicrafts and gifts, etc. After that, transfer to the Mandalay International Airport and take your departure flight.
